HUDCO MEANS
1. HUDCO is a public sector enterprise owned by the government of India.
2. It was incorporated as a fully owned Government Company under the Companies Act,
1956 with the main objective of financing Housing and Urban development projects in the
country.

ROLE OF HUDCO
The HUDCO provides loans for projects relating to water supply, roads and transport, power,
emerging sectors, commercial infrastructure
(shopping centre, market complexes, malls-cum-multiplexes, hotels and office buildings),
social infrastructure, sewerage, drainage and solid waste management and smart cities.
INTRODUCTION HUDCO

HUDCO was incorporated on April 25, 1970.


HUDCO has worked with architects such as B. V. Doshi, Charles Correa, Christopher Charles
Benninger and Sheila Sri Prakash.
Housing and Urban Development programme in India with special emphasis on low cost
housing.
Development of new townships and their infrastructural needs.
Development of buildings material technology and industries.
Consultancy services with India and abroad.

VISION
OBJECTIVES HUDCO

Providing long term finance for construction of houses and


urban development programs in the country.
Finance or undertake, wholly or partly, the setting up of the
new or satellite towns.
Subscribe to the debentures and bonds to be issued by the
State Housing Urban Development Boards, Improvement
Trusts, Development Authorities etc. specifically for the
purpose of financing housing and urban development
programs.
Finance or undertake the setting up of industrial
enterprises of building material.
OBJECTIVES HUDCO

Administers the money received, from time to time, from the


Government of India and other sources as grant or otherwise for the
purposes of financing or undertaking housing and urban development
programs in the country, and promote, establish, assist, collaborate and
provide consultancy services for the projects of designing and planning
of works relating to Housing and Urban Development programs in India
and abroad.
Undertakes business of Venture Capital Fund in Housing and Urban
Development Sectors facilitating Innovations in these sectors and invest
in and/or subscribe to the units/shares etc, of Venture Capital Funds
promoted by Government/Government Agencies in the above areas.
Set up HUDCO's own Mutual Fund for the purpose of Housing and
Urban Development programs and/or invest in Mutual Funds, promoted
by the Government/Government Agencies for the above purpose

YSR JAGANANNA COLONIES
To be called YSR Jagan anna colonies, the Housing Department
proposed to construct 30 lakh houses in the next four years under the
State government’s flagship programme, Navaratnalu -
Pedalandariki Illu.
Housing Minister Cherukuvada Ranganatha Raju told The
Hindu that the project would be taken up in two phases.
The first phase would begin on August 28 and the second phase in
August next year.
Fifteen lakh houses would be constructed in each phase and facilities
like water supply, electricity, approach roads, internal roads and
drains and other social infrastructure would be provided in the
colonies.
The government would incur ₹2,540 crore to provide water supply
and ₹3,200 crore for electricity, said the Minister.
YSR JAGANANNA COLONIES
DESIGN
The cost of each house, with a carpet area of 230 sft and a
plinth area of 288 sft, was likely to be around ₹1.80 lakh.
The designs were being finalised. “The government is
making arrangements to supply cement at an affordable rate
to the beneficiaries – ₹235 per bag (OPC - ordinary
portland cement) and ₹225 per bag (PPC - portland
pozzolana cement), against the market price of around ₹360
per bag,” he said.
The government would have to spend between ₹10,000
crore and ₹11,000 crore on land acquisition. “The total
outlay for the scheme is ₹50,000 crore, which includes the
Central government’s share. With this, assets worth ₹2 lakh
crore will be created in the State by 2024,” the Minister
said.
Construction of 15.6 Lakh Houses Initiated

YSR housing scheme has been launched in order to provide houses to poor
families of AndhraPradesh.
The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy has
launched this scheme.
By the implementation of this scheme, the poor citizens of the state can live the
dream of owning ahouse.
Under this scheme, houses will provide to all the eligible citizens of the state by
2023. Nearly 15.6 lakh houses will be built under this scheme in the first phase.
The government is going to spend Rs 28084 crore on building 15.6 lakh houses.
On 3rd June 2021 chief minister of Andhra Pradesh himself laid the foundation
of housing colonies invirtual mode from his camp office.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister has also spoken to the beneficiaries.
