 Fungsi Biaya Modal
• Digunakan sebagai ukuran untuk menentukan diterima/ditolaknya suatu
usulan investasi;
• Yaitu dengan membandingkan tingkat keuntungan (rate of return) dan
biaya modalnya;
• Sebagai discount rate untuk menghitung nilai sekarang dari aliran kas
masuk dan pengeluaran investasi

 Biaya Modal Utang Jangka Pendek
• Jangka waktu pengembalian utang <1 tahun, contohnya adalah utang
dagang, utang wesel dan utang jangka pendek bank.

• Rumus:
Kt : biaya utang jangka pendek setelah pajak
Kt = Kb (1-t) Kb : biaya utang jangka pendek sebelum pajak
t : tingkat pajak

✘ Perusahaan membeli bahan baku secara kredit, Bunga kredit 12%, tingkat pajak
penghasilan 35%, maka biaya utang setelah pajak sebesar?

✘ Jawaban:
✘ Kb (12%=0,12), t (35%=0,35), Kt (?)
✗ Kt = Kb (1-t)
✗ = 0,12 (1-0,35)
✗ = 0,078 atau 7,8% >> Biaya utang setelah pajak

 Biaya Modal Utang Jangka Panjang
• Umumnya adalah Obligasi/Surat hutang
• Dapat dihitung menggunakan perhitungan tingkat pendapatan investasi
dalam obligasi
• Rumus:
I : bunga utang jangka Panjang 1 tahun dalam rupiah
Kd = 1 + (N-Nb)/n n : nilai nominal obligasi
(Nb+N)/2 nb : nilai bersih penjualan obligasi
n : nilai obligasi
