• Definition: What is Invitation Cards and Greeting Cards?
(Apa itu Kartu Undangan dan Kartu Ucapan?)
• The invitation card is a written paper or electronic
image that is sent to people for different occasions.
(Kartu undangan adalah kertas tertulis atau gambar
elektronik yang dikirimkan kepada orang-orang untuk
berbagai kesempatan.)
• The greeting card is an illustrated piece of card stock or
high quality paper featuring an expression of
friendship or other sentiment.(Kartu ucapan adalah
sepotong kartu bergambar atau kertas berkualitas tinggi
yang menggambarkan ekspresi persahabatan atau
sentimen lainnya.)
Function: The invitation card function is to invite people to
attend an event.
Greeting card function is a letter (usually decorated with
pictures) that are used to congratulate, pray for someone and
so on.
The generic structure of Invitation Card :
1. Receiver/To : Name of the person invited
2. Body of invitation :
-Subjek : The name of the event
-Day or Date : Event day
-Time : Time of the event
-Place : Place of the event
3. Sender/From : The name of the person who sent the
invitation card.
• The generic structure of Greeting card :
• 1.Receiver : To whom the greeting is sent for. Write
down the name of receiver if it is needed.
• 2.Body : The body of greeting card usually consist
of interesting words added by substance as the
following:
• -Quote : These words related to the activity.
• -Picture : The greeting is inserted with interesting
picture.
• -Expression : Using Congratulation Expression or
Sympathy Expression.
• 3. Sender: It is better to write down the sender of the
greeting
• Expression of Greeting Card
• There are some Expression can be used in greeting
card, such as:
• Congratulation on your newl born baby!
• Happy Birthday!
• Congratulation on your wedding!
• Happ Iedul Fitr!
• Happy New Year!
• Merry Christmas!
• Etc.
• Example of Expression Invitation and the Response:
• Indra : Hi, Anya. Have you seen The Conjuring movie?
• Anya : Hi, Indra. I have not seen that movie. Why?
• Indra : Would you like to see The Conjuring movie with me tonight?
• Anya : Unfortunately. I can’t because I am scared horror movie.
• Indra : Okay if you are scared horror movie. Shall we come to
fireworks party in the downtown?
• Anya : When it happen?
• Indra : Tonight, dear. How?
• Anya : Really?
• Indra : Yeah, if you can.
• Anya : With pleasure, Ndra. I like fireworks very much.
• Indra : Okay, I will pick you up at 8 pm.
• Anya : Thank you, Ndra.
