 DR. SANDEEP SHUKLA
Dr. Sandeep Shukla is currently working as a coordinator in the Interdisciplinary center for
cyber security and Cyber Défense of Critical Infrastructure.

He also worked as an Editor in chief for ACM Transactions on embedded computing systems.

He also worked as Humboldt Bessel Award visiting faculty at the Technical University of
Kaiserslautern, Germany.

His Ph.D. was on Theoretical analysis, complexity analysis, and mapping of algorithms aspects
of formal definition.

He worked for the Telecommunications network management software lab where he developed
distributed algorithms and their implementations for the network management system and did
research on middleware-based Distributed object Technology.

After working 2 years in the Telecom industry, he went back to his roots and joined the formal
verification team at Intel. While working for Intel, he took up an interest in high-level system
modeling languages, simulation, and high-level/behavioral synthesis.

After 4 years of Industry exposure, he decided to go back to academia. So, he joined a post-
Doctoral Research Associate position at the center for Embedded computer systems at the
University of California at Irvine.

There he used to work on dynamic system-level power management and other problems related
to embedded system design. He has a research Lab called FERMAT (Formal Engineering Research
with models, Abstractions, and Transformations

He is currently working as a part of Global University Program Teams at IBM

Research.

He is passionate about learning and sharing knowledge.

His work area includes Academic Program management, Cloud Pre-sales, Cloud
Application Development, Electronic Content management, Competency
management, Monitoring startups, Curriculum Design, and Project Management.

He has previously worked o across different technologies including cloud, Block-

chain, IoT, Data Science, Dev ops, and IBM Watsor.

He contributed to Ecosystem development with stakeholders from ISV’s, startups,

and Academia.
He represents IBM in various forums as a Technical Expert /Panellist on various
technology areas, advisor to a few studies at various academic bodies / Universities
including AICTE, NITTTR, and many more.

He also works as a Mentor to the online community on blockchain and cloud,

supporting sessions on IBM Blockchain/Hyper Ledger and IBM Cloud.
