 Connecting to Xc2003
 Making Language files
 Making Access Keys
 Making Parameter files
 Preparing USB stick(s) for production
ENGINEERING TOOLS
Connecting to Xc2003

 PEAK CAN to USB convertor

 Canto2 software (v2.8 and up)
ENGINEERING TOOLS
Making Language Files

 Language files can be retrieved from controller

– USB stick
– CANto

 Language Files can be edited GuiEditor

– Add languages
– Edit languages
– Save file on USB stick as CONFIG2.GUI

 Reuse translations from Xc3003-4003 as much as possible

– Translation effort already done
– Checked by Customer Centres around the world

 1 Translation file can be used for many (all) product variants.

ENGINEERING TOOLS
Making Access Keys

 Creating Access Keys in done in every Product Company locally

 Tools:
– KeyMaster
– KeyChecker

 Suggested to use USB key with AC partnumber 1626 6289 01

– Extended temperature range
 Can be used for logging also
– Unique Serial number

 Personal USB KEY + pincode is needed to run KeyMaster Program

 See Instruction
ENGINEERING TOOLS
Making Parameter Files

 Parameter files are made with CANto2

 Reference file can be obtained
– From controller => ASK ALL
– Opened from previous session

 Parameters can be found in “SDO Parameters” Tab

– Under CAN A they are grouped as in the controller
– Edited in side panel
– Fast edit:
 +/-
 CTRL + / -
 ALT + / -
 SHIFT + / -

 Suggestion to make Master file to keep track of all project files.

ENGINEERING TOOLS
Making Parameter Files

 Multiple parameter files can be opened and compared

 Edited parameters in CANto are sent to controller
 Temporary until Saved!
 Parameters need to be saved in controller to be able to create the files on the USB stick for
production
 Parameters in 7900 range define the I/O settings
– Unused I/O’s should be set to “DISABLED” rather then “NOT USED”

 Special attention to ECU communication parameters.

 Attention to keep similarities with Xc3003 & 4003 parameter settings.
ENGINEERING TOOLS
Preparing USB stick(s) for Production

 Prepare Xc2003 with all needed parameters  Empty key

and languages through CANto  Copy firmware to \\autoupd\EXE4038\<filename>.bin
 Take Empty key
 Make it Service/Master level with KeyMaster
 Plug in to USB port of controller wiring
 Use Service menu tools on the controller
display to generate Parameter files and
language file.

 Step 1: Set up the Ambient temperature reading on the controller display

 Step 2: Set up an Ambient temperature low alarm when the temperature is below 20°C that
automatically disappears when the temperature is restored
 Step 3: Set up an Ambient temperature high alarm when the temperature goes above 25°C
 Step 4: set up an output for the ambient temperature high alarm (lamp)
 Step 5: Translate the ambient temperature alarm texts, and change the language on screen
 Step 6: Make a trending of the Ambient temperature

Project Files
PROJECT FILES
General

 Creating and maintaining project files need much attention and can be very time consuming.
 In Antwerp a Master document for the project files is maintained
– Project file Master document
– This document contains complied information of all units produced in Antwerp
 Inputs
 Outputs
 Views
 Parameter settings
 …

 Only works if it is kept up to date with every change that has to be made to new project file
 All Product Companies are responsible for creation and maintaining own project file
– Similar workflow as in Antwerp is strongly suggested
