DISTRACTED DRIVING
 Service Experience
Coming from a community where most people own vehicles and there are more incidences of accidents due to distracted
driving, I decided that for my community project service, I would create awareness on the impacts of distracted driving and
some of the most effective ways to prevent the issue so as to save many people’s lives. With the help from my team, I was
able to circulate the flyers to different colleges, homes and people we met on streets. I believe that this issue still needs to be
discussed until we can get it right through people’s minds before the occurrence of an accident for them to learn. There is no
any local event which has been scheduled, however, I would wish to visit several colleges and discuss with them the possible
dangers and effects of being distracted while driving. I think this will help to minimize on the cases of accidents in Los
Angeles community.
To be able to help this service project grow and continue existing, I will keep on creating awareness on how important it
is to stay alert while driving to ensure that they are not distracted while driving. Also, I will keep on educating the public on
the impacts of distracted driving and the how to mitigate the issue in the most effective way. In future, I will create posters
and adverts to circulate through all platforms of the social media concerning the issue to ensure that the lives of people will
be not at any risk anymore. This particular service project was valuable since it gave me a chance and a whole new meaning
to the true and best participation as well as the effort to demonstrate my strengths and commitment towards serving the
community by saving many lives. Other people think that this issue is important because they value life and safety of the
community members. It is important to me since I also care about other people safety and well-being.
I did not take any pictures since most people who participated were not comfortable taking pictures. There was a lot of mist
