Volume of Prism, Cylinder

and Pyramid :)

By: Katerina Palacios 10-1

Volume of Prism:
To find the volume of a rectangular prism you have to do like you are going
to find the area of a normal rectangle, the difference is that in a rectangular
prism you multiply by height instead of just multiplying lxw.

The formula to find the volume is:

A= LxWxH

Examples:

A= l*w*h
2 A=5x2x6 3 5
6 A=60

5 7 A=l*w*h
A=3*5*7
A= 105
4 A= l*w*h
A=3x4x8
8 A= 96

Volume of Cylinder :
To find the volume of a cylinder you have to use the π symbol that stands for Pi.
Since it is a cylinder that includes a circle then you must use π for the
circumference and area of a circle.

The formula for finding the volume of a cylinder is :

Πr squaredh

A= Πrsquared h
A= π3squared2 A= π5squared4 A=πrsquaredh
A=56.52 A= 314 A= π 9squared7
A=63 π
Volume of a Pyramid
To find the volume of a pyramid you have to multiply
the base times the height and then by 1/3 .

The formula to find the formula is:

A=1/3 bh 9 V=1/3(b)(h)
V=1/3(5)(9)
Examples: V=15

5
V=1/3(B)(h)
V=1/3(7)(6)
6 V=14

8 V=1/3(b)(h)
7 V=1/3(3)(8)
V=8
