About Microsoft Bing Search Engine:
● Bing is the second most visited search engine in the world (in 2020).
● Bing, search engine launched in 2009 by the American software company
Microsoft Corporation.
● According to recent figures, Bing acquire a larger share of the search market in the
US, which is an indication of the Microsoft-owned search engine making steady
progress.
● “Microsoft Edge” browser uses the Microsoft Bing Search Engine.
● In 2021, Microsoft Edge had beaten Google Chrome in terms of performance,
privacy & security handling and system memory usage and the one of the reason
for that is “Bing Search Engine”.
About Features of Bing Search Engine:

● Local Search Results: The local search results in Bing are highly customizable and
very pleasing to the eyes. A casual search term “restaurants near me” gives you a lot
of options to filter.
● Image Search: Bing Image Search is way more advanced and organized than what
you can find on Google.
● Video Search: The video search results are displayed in thumbnail grids, and users
can watch videos within the environment.
● Links vs Content: It is well-known that Bing algorithms are more focused on
finding and showcasing quality than counting the number of links.
Study of Research Papers on Bing Search Engine:

● Precision of Google was high for simple one word queries(0.76) .

● Bing had comparatively high precision of simple multi word queries(0.96) and
Complex multi word queries(0.89).
● Relative recall of Google were high for all simple one word queries(0.94), simple
multi word queries(0.70) and complex multi word queries(0.80).
● When it comes to image search, Microsoft Bing have a leg up on Google by providing
higher-quality images.
● Microsoft Bing provides a much more visual video search results page, including a
grid view of large thumbnails.
