designers come from a variety of artistic
backgrounds, but inrecent years , are mostly
trained professionals, holding a B.F.A. or
M.F.A. degrees in theater arts.
TYPES OF
SCENERY
1.)CURTAINS-Stage curtains large pieces of
cloth that are designed to mask backstage areas of
a theater from spectators.They are designed for a
variety of specific purposes ,moving in different
ways and constructed from various fabrics

2.) FLAT-A flat (short for scenery flat) or
coulisse is a flat piece of theatrical which is
painted and positioned on stage so as to give the
appearance of building or other background.

Usually flats are built in standard sizes of 8 feet (2.4
m),10 feet (3.0 m), or 12 feet (3.7 m) tall so that walls
or other scenery may easily be constructed , and so that
flats may be stored and reused for subsequent
productions.
3.)THEATRE PLATFORM-In
theatre ,a platform (also referred to as a riser
or rostrum) is a stationary ,standard flat
walking surface for actors to perform on.
Typically ,they are built to be assembled
modularly.

4.)SCENERY WAGON- Scenery wagon,
also known as a stage wagon,is a mobile platform
that is used to support and transport movable, three-
dimensional theatrical scenery on a theater stage.In
most cases, the scenery is constructed on top of the
wagon such that the wagon,and the scenery it
supports, forms a single, integrated structure.
