• WHITE MATTER
• Found in the deeper tissues of the brain
• Contains axons
• Pass messages between different areas of grey matter
• GREY MATTER
• Major component of CNS
• Consist of neuronal cell bodies , dendrites , un myelinated axons , glial cells , synapses and
capillaries
• Enable individuals to control movement , memory and emotions
• NUCLEI OF BRAIN
• Cluster of neurons in the CNS located deep within the cerebral hemispheres and the brain stem
• CORPOUS CALLOSUM
• A large bundle of more than 200 million myelinated nerve fibres that connect the two
brain hemispheres permitting communication between the right and left sides of the
brain
