ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH &
SAFETY:
Pidilite strictly complies with all applicable legal requirements and other regulations related to Occupational Health,
Safety and Environmental aspects and minimize OHS Hazards & Risks applicable to our products, processes and
services.
Pidilite ensures that every individual at Pidilite is committed to maintaining an
injury and accident-free workplace and protecting the environment.

By Continually working towards improving their EHS performance through effective


implementation and periodic reviews of their performance.

Pidilite optimizes the use of natural resources by implementing conservation


techniques and adopting the 3-R principle of reduce, reuse and recycle.

Pidilite makes determined efforts to move towards zero discharge, zero leakage


and spillage, and zero accidents.

Strive to minimize energy use and air pollution, maximize plant efficiency, and reduce generation
of solid, hazardous waste at source by 50%.
Training employees to protect the environment and put safety first  & ensuring proper safety management in the
workplace.

While designing the product, we ensure that the products are safe and manufacturing processes are resource
efficient and sustainable. We regularly review and improve upon the manufacturing processes and services
provided, incorporating product safety and environmental considerations. 

Manufacturing environment-friendly products and adopting cleaner technologies

During FY 2018-19, the following key improvement initiatives were carried out: • Reduction of
Carcinogenic, Mutagenic and toxic for Reproduction (CMR) substances, in a liquid sealant product. •
Development of Acrylic Colors with non-hazardous ingredients

They have implemented several initiatives throughout our process life cycle to
improve energy efficiency and reduction in electricity, heat and steam losses

By continuously working towards reducing our overall air emissions, considering regulatory requirement as a baseline.
This is achieved by moving towards non-fossil and cleaner fuel consumption along with installation of necessary pollution
control equipment. 
Third-party inspections are conducted once in every quarter at all manufacturing plants and air emissions are maintained
well within permissible limits.
Initiatives undertaken for safety handling of hazardous material that are: 
• For majority of chemicals bulk storage tanks necessary safety precaution during unloading, storage
and transfer of hazardous chemicals are carried out
• Closed loop handling of hazardous chemicals to avoid exposure to operating personnel 
• Necessary safety precautions against static electricity during unloading and transferring of
flammable chemicals
• Provision of charging booth with proper aspiration system for reducing exposure for key high hazard
chemicals during dispensing and charging process 
• Provision of separate segregated storage facility for hazardous material for restricted controlled
access
• Training and education of employees on safe handling of hazardous chemicals
Major initiatives related to Health and Safety 
• Upgradation of Fire Infrastructure across plant for mitigation of fire risks 
• Risk Reduction of Packing Machines by moving towards tamper proof interlocks
• Formation and implementation of key standards for Project Safety Management 
• Project Risk Management to ensure evaluation and incorporation of Safety and health requirements at various stages of
projects
• Installation of Human Static Discharge system in areas where flammable chemicals are used 
• Closure of critical gaps identified during External Fire and Electrical Safety Risk Audit
• Emergency preparedness through mock drills
WELFARE MEASURES OF PIDILITE

1}MEDICAL CHECK-UP: 
At Pidilite, they undertake medical check-up of all employees over 40 years of
age. Those found to have blood pressure and blood sugar above acceptable
levels are sent for regular medical check-ups and progress is tracked.

2}HOBBY AWARENESS CLASSES: They undertake hobby and


awareness classes for employees and their families wherein they are
introduced to new hobbies as well as personality development concepts.

3}SPORTS: Pidilite also has a cricket club and employees are encouraged to
participate  in cricket tournaments the same.

4}CELEBRATIONS: At Pidilite the feeling goes beyond an employer-employee


relationship. We work as a team and treat each other like family. All festivals
are celebrated together. We play garbha , light lamps , burst crackers, decorate
the Christmas tree and party at New Years.
5}FORUMS –AAP KA MITRA. :
Employees within the company are nominated as Aap Ka Mitras and trained in
counseling. Other employees may approach Aap Ka Mitras for help in solving various
work related or personal problems. In the case of work related problems, Aap Ka
Mitras refer the issue to concerned authorities.

6}ANNUAL PICNIC: The picnic is an annual affair organized by all our locations. The
employees get an opportunity to spend time with each other and the management in a completely
relaxed atmosphere. This helps in furthering relationships even at the work place. For the picnic
they go to a resort where everyone enthusiastically participates in games and competitions.

7}GET TOGETHER: Each department organizes a dinner or snacks for all its
members every year. This creates a platform for all the members of the
department to interact informally.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY-


 The company remains committed to continuously serving and supporting areas like rural development,
water conservation, health care & education. 
 Under rural development -  1,500 toilets were built in 16 villages. Construction of check dam at Lakhupura on
 river Malan was completed.
 Under Gram Nirman samaj started a night school at Indira Nagar,
 Children's Library at primary schools in 50 villages had been established.
 Hanumant hospital is continuously being upgraded with new medical facilities and Equipment.
