Greatest work we can ever do
“The highest of all sciences is
the science of soul saving.
The greatest work to which
human beings can aspire is the
work of winning men from sin
to holiness. For the
accomplishment of this work a
broad foundation must be
laid. A comprehensive
education is needed”

Start them young in ministry

• Proverbs 22:6 - “Train up

(Hebrew– to create a
special desire) a child in
the way he should go, and
when he is old, he will not
depart from it.”
• Too often we decide to
have a child wait till he is
older before they are
allowed to participate in
various levels of outreach,
resulting in them becoming
adult benchwarmers in the
church later on.

How does Pathfinder Ministry
happen?

1) When we exercise in selected activities

“The only way to grow in grace (2 Peter 3:18) is to be

interested in doing the very work which Christ has
enjoined upon us to engage, to the extent of our ability,
in helping and blessing those who need the help we can
give them. Strength comes by exercise; activity is the
very condition of life. Those who endeavor to maintain
Christian life by passively accepting the blessings that
come through the means of grace, and doing nothing for
Christ, are simply trying to live by eating without
working.”

1) When we exercise in selected activities
“And in the spiritual as in the natural world, this always
results in degeneration and decay. A man who would
refuse to exercise his limbs would soon lose all power to
use them. Thus the Christian who will not exercise his
God-given powers, not only fails to grow up in to Christ,
but he loses the strength that he already had.”

2) When we become need oriented

Christ's method alone will give true success in reaching

the people (6 steps). Ministry of Healing, p. 143

• The Savior mingled with men (Contact)

• As One who desired their good (Concern)
• He showed His sympathy for them (Compassion)
• Ministered to their needs (Commitment)
• And won their confidence. (Confidence)
• Then He bade them, 'follow me' (Conversion)

Personal Ministry

“There is a need of coming close to the people by personal

effort. If less time were given to sermonizing, and more
time were spent in personal ministry, greater results would
be seen. The poor are to be relieved, the sick cared for,
the sorrowing and the bereaved comforted, the ignorant
instructed, the inexperienced counseled. We are to weep
with those that weep…Rejoice with those that rejoice.
Accompanied by the power of persuasion, the power of
prayer, the power of the love of God, this work will not,
cannot, be without fruit” Ministry of Healing pp. 143-144.

Rewards of Personal Ministry
“The spirit of unselfish labor for others gives
depth, stability, and Christ like loveliness to
the character, and brings peace and happiness
to its possessor. The aspirations are elevated.
There is no room for sloth or selfishness.
Those who thus exercise the Christian graces
will grow and will become strong to work for
God…. They will have clear spiritual perceptions,
a steady, growing faith, and an increased power
in prayer…Those who thus devote themselves to
unselfish effort for the good of others are
most surely working out their own salvation.”
Steps to Christ p. 80.
