Problem statement

Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is one of the most serious air quality contaminants in many urban and industrial regions across

the world.

Monitoring and regulating NO2 pollution is a critical responsibility to assist decision-makers in their search for a long-

term solution to enhance environmental quality and population health.

To assist decision-makers, Atmospheric pollution needs detailed quantitative ground measurements as well as robust
spatial and temporal modelling in order to detect the most affected areas in time. It is a bit complex solution.

The satellite sensor measurement of atmospheric pollution is a more objective solution.

We have developed a web application which can estimate the pollution using a combination of hyper-spectral
satellite imagery data and maps.
Proposed Solution

Analysis of the NO2 pollutant is based on Sentinel-5P(satellite mission) data products.

After the image processing steps and the derivation of the pollution parameter for the tropospheric NO2 column
number density, this data will be given to the regression model to predict the estimation of NO2 at a particular
timestep.

The technique incorporated is deep learning.

ADVANTAGES:

Sentinel-5P satellite system produces free and open data products at

High spatial resolution, available offline.

Help air quality monitoring at different scales of analysis [from the big cities to national, continental, or global
coverages].

Provides a continuous surface of data, showing the spatial distribution of different pollutants for a specific time.
