WOOLSTHORPE, LINCOLNSHIRE, ENGLAND, HE IS THE
GREATEST OF ENGLISH ASTRONOMERS; HE ALSO STOOD
OUT AS A GREAT PHYSICIST AND MATHEMATICIAN.

NEWTON AND THE APPLE
After dinner Newton went to the garden for tea and saw an
apple fall and for the first time thought about gravitation.

have to fall perpendicular to the ground? Why doesn't it fall
straight up or to the side, and not always towards the center
of the Earth? The reason has to be that the Earth attracts her.

CLASSICAL MECHANICS, ARE THREE: THE LAW OF INERTIA, THE RELATIONSHIP
BETWEEN FORCE AND ACCELERATION, AND THE LAW OF ACTION AND REACTION.
NEWTON ARGUED THAT ALL MOVEMENTS FOLLOW THESE THREE MAIN LAWS,
FORMULATED IN MATHEMATICAL TERMS.
