Presentation

• Presentation is an activity where a speaker conveys or


communicates ideas and information to audiences (Erwin
Sutomo, 2007)
• Presentation is an important activity in communicating ideas
to other people with various purposes, such as to make
audiences buying products, using services, or for the
importance of other people (Terra C. Triwahyuni dan Abdul
Kadir, 2004)
• A presenter must prepare himself/ herself optimally related to
mental, the understanding of the materials, supporting tools/
equipment, and the understanding about the audiences.
• Basic preparation in doing presentation (Djoko Purwanto, 2003):
• 1. Mastery of the topic/ materials presented
• 2. Mastery of supporting tools/ equipment
• 3. Analyzing the audiences (who are they?)
• 4. Analyzing the places (where the presentation takes place)
Some tips in presentation:

• Consider adding pictures and applying effects to the slides.


• Consider adding relevant multi medias and facts.
• Don’t show too much texts in the slides (try to make the materials solid and brief).
• One slide, one point/ sub topics.
• Consider the font sizes.

• Public speaking training


• Smile
• Speak clearly and briefly
• Don’t just read. Keep eye contact to the audients.
• Don’t be nervous (be calm and confident).
• Give answers that might be believed by the audients and based on facts/ valid sources
(try to give right and exact answer sometimes can be stressful)
Present the topics below.
• Chandra: How to face quarter life crisis (for those whose age are twenties)
• Dewi: How to understand partner’s love language
• Yucan: How to find job based on passion
• William: How to start a career outside of college majors
• Erin: How to start self-love
• Yoga: How to manage finance

Prepare the presentation for app. 30 minutes. Present the topic for app. 5-
10 minutes (for each topic). Please have discussion after the presentation.
