Imagine you want to take some hobby which is very close to your heart and you want to practice it or
take it as a profession . But because of certain stereotypes in the Indian society you are not able to to
pursue your dream , if am not wrong most of you people will be terrified and will be angry on the
same idea, people let me tell you that this situation is faced in India due to gender stereotypes in the
country , and we all have to puts hands together to improve it .

Gunjan Saxena
Gunjan Saxena was born in 1975 in a city called as Lucknow she was born to an army family her father ANUP
SAXENA was a lieutenant colonel in the Indian army . His brother ANSHUMAN SAXENA was also in the force .
Gunjan was a curious girl she completed her degree in the Delhi university after getting graduated Gunjan was
fascinated by the idea of being in air force , she started to work hard on it she started to doing gym and was also
trying to lose weight but while she was doing all these she received many stereotypes by some family members ,
aunts and all relatives like LADKI HAI KYA KARENGI 25 KAI BAAD SHAADI HI TO KARNI HAIN her brother
and her mother also told her the same thing but her father was against it her brother Anshuman told her that gunju …
you are a precious one for us you going and joining the force will be dangerous …. You better stay at home let me
protect the nation. Gunjan broke all stereotypes her father supported her and finally in 1994 Gunjan joined the air
force . She again received more stereotypes she was calm and patients and only believed in herself . In 1999 int the
kargil war she turned out to safe more than 800 to 1000 officers which also included her brother , she also is the first
lady Indian officer . And because of her braveful work in the kargil war she received a title of KARGIL GIRL
