The famous Constantin Brancusi:
(History)

Constantin Brancusi was born in 1876 at Hobita, in Oltenia, southern

Romania. In 1883, he started working as a shepherd in the Carpathian
Mountains. Later on, he worked as a dyer, as an assistant in a grocery and
then as a servant at an inn. While working at the inn he was challenged to
make a violin as a bet. He succeeded so well, that the owner of the shop
decided to help him to enroll in the provincial Craiova School of Arts and
Crafts.
Constantin Brancusi:

The Kiss was his first truly original work and the most abstract
sculpture of the period representing two embracing figures locked
together in the same block of stone.
Constantin Brancusi:

"Sleeping Muse" seems Golden, but it really is bronze. Constantin

Brancusi did not hire helpers, did not trust anyone, casting and polishing –
all part of a single process, the case of the sculptor. A brilliant craftsman,
sensitive shaman, all my life listening to the language of wood, marble and
metal, he for several weeks, and sometimes months could hold for
polishing a sculpture.
Constantin Brancusi:

In 1923, Brancusi refined the figure of the bird to its most concentrated
form. The first Bird in Space was made from marble; bronze and plaster
versions followed in the years and decades to come.
