BE SACRIFICED IN HIS
HONOR. ALSO THE MYTH
SAYS THAT MINOS DID
NOT COMPLY WITH THE
ORDER OF THE GOD,
POSEIDON WHERE HE IS
PUNISHED WITH PASIFAE
HE FELL IN LOVE WITH

 MINOTAUR AND
THE  LABYRINTH
 The myth of the minotaur tells how this beast got
to the labyrinth and what its role was once there.

 Says  that Daedalus created

the Labyrinth of Crete to stop
the beast, being a huge
structure full of paths that
intersect with each other,
leaving the Minotaur in the
center of it.

tells us that the Minotaur became a

huge problem, since it could only feed
on human food, growing little by little,
and becoming even more savage.
• THE MYTH SAYS THAT
MINOS ATTACKED AND
SURRENDERED ATHENS,
BECAUSE THE ATHENIANS
HAD KILLED THE SON OF
THE KING OF CRETE. IT
ALSO TELLS THAT AS A
TRIBUTE, MINOS ASKED
THAT EVERY CERTAIN
TIME THE ATHENIANS
SHOULD SEND 7 MAIDENS
AND 7 MALE
ADOLESCENTS TO THE
LABYRINTH, SO THAT
THEY ARE SACRIFICED BY
THE MINOTAUR.
THESEUS AND THE END OF THE
MINOTAUR
 the myth says that
Theseus was a king of
Athens, son of Poseidon
or Aegeus, Theseus's
idea was to kill the
Minotaur, achieving
thanks to this to free
his people from the
punishment imposed by
King Minos.

tells the story that when they

arrived in Crete, Theseus and the
rest of the sacrifices met King Minos
and his daughter Ariadne, who fell
madly in love with Theseus. Ariadne
asked Theseus not to enter the
labyrinth, but Theseus was sure that
he could kill the Minotaur.
• THE MYTH TELLS US THAT
ARIADNE TRUSTED THAT THESEUS
COULD KILL THE BEAST, BUT FEARED
THAT HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO
ESCAPE LATER, SO SHE ASKED
DAEDALUS FOR HELP, WHO
TOLD HER THAT THESEUS SHOULD
ENTER THE LABYRINTH WITH A BALL
OF WOOL, SO WHEN HE KILLED THE
MINOTAUR HE WOULD ONLY HAVE
TO FOLLOW THE THREAD UNTIL HE
GOT OUT OF THE LABYRINTH.

It tells that Theseus went through the

entire labyrinth until he reached where
the Minotaur was, killing him with great
effort. After this, the Greek hero
followed the thread of the ball of yarn
that Ariadne had given him, leaving the
labyrinth alive.
 RESUMEN
El Minotauro fue hijo del Toro de Creta y de Pasífae. Siendo el primero un toro traído a la vida por Poseidón, el cual tuvo que ser
detenido por Heracles debido a los problemas que causaban en Creta. Mientras que Pasífae era una hija de Helios y de una ninfa, que
estaba casada con el rey Minos de Creta. Desde el principio, el Minotauro se volvió un enorme problema, ya que solo se podía alimentar
mediante comida humana, creciendo poco a poco, y volviéndose aún más salvaje. Por ello los cretenses hablaron con Dédalo, el mejor
artesano de toda Grecia, y la única persona que consideraban que fuera capaz de crear algo para detener al Minotauro.

Dédalo creó el Laberinto de Creta para detener a la bestia, siendo una enorme estructura llena de caminos que se entrecruzan entre sí,
dejando al Minotauro en el centro de él.

Casi al mismo tiempo, Minos atacaba y rendía Atenas, debido a que los atenienses habían matado al hijo del rey de Creta. Como tributo,
Minos pedía que cada determinado tiempo los atenienses debían mandar 7 doncellas y 7 adolescentes masculinos al laberinto, para que
fueran sacrificados por el Minotauro .en los que 14 atenienses eran sacrificados al minotauro y no fue hasta la llegada de Teseo que todo
esto terminó. Teseo fue un rey de Atenas, hijo de Poseidón o de Egeo, dependiendo de las fuentes que consultemos, considerado como
uno de los mayores héroes de toda la mitología griega. La idea de Teseo era matar al Minotauro, logrando gracias a ello liberar a su
pueblo del castigo impuesto por rey Minos. Al llegar a Creta, Teseo y el resto de sacrificios conocieron al rey Minos y a su hija Ariadna,
la cual se enamoró locamente de Teseo. Ariadna pidió a Teseo que no entrara al laberinto, pero Teseo estaba seguro de que podía matar al
Minotauro. Ariadna confiaba en que Teseo pudiera matar a la bestia, pero temía que luego no fuera capaz de escapar, así que pidió ayuda
a Dédalo, el cual le dijo que Teseo debía entrar con un ovillo de lana en el laberinto, así cuando matara al Minotauro sólo debería seguir
el hilo hasta salir del laberinto.

Teseo recorrió todo el laberinto hasta llegar a donde se encontraba el Minotauro, matándolo con gran esfuerzo. Tras esto el héroe griego
siguió el hilo del ovillo que Ariadna le había dado, saliendo del laberinto con vida. Tras matarlo, Teseo huyo de Creta, siendo
acompañado por los atenienses que habían viajado con él y por Ariadna.
