relating to the operations and responsibilities of a
specific job "

JOB DESCRIPTION: is an organized factual statement of job


contents in the form of duties and responsibilities of a specific job.

JOB SPECIFICATION A statement which tells us minimum


acceptable human qualities which helps to perform a job.

☛ Wendell L French- “A process to determine the relative worth of various jobs within the organization, so that differential wages may be
paid to jobs of different worth

☛ The process of determining how much a job should be paid, balances


– Internal Equity: Paying different jobs differently, based on what the job entails.

☛ It tries to make a systematic comparison between jobs to assess their relative worth for the purpose of establishing a rational pay
structure.
