Language
• The Singapore government recognises four
official languages: English, Malay, Mandarin,
and Tamil. Due to the Singapore's history, the
symbolic national language is Malay.
Festivals
• Lantern Festival or the spring lantern festival is one of
the most popular festivals in Singapore. It marks the
last day of celebration of the Chinese New Year (15th
day). During this day, the kids carry paper lanterns
outside, lit them up and release it in the sky.
Food And
Drinks
• Chicken rice
Regularly referred to as Singapore's
national dish. The rice is cooked in
chicken stock, ensuring a burst of flavour
with every bite. Go for the steamed
chicken option, served with thick sweet
soy sauce, chilli and ginger.
• The most popular drink in Singapore is
teh and kopi, which we all know as “tea
and coffee.” Singaporean tea is known
for its bitterness because of the added
medicinal benefits, while Singaporean
coffee has sweetened condensed milk
and has the best taste!
Superstition

• Superstition or not, whistling late

at night is just plain creepy.
According to local superstition,
whistling at night draws the
attention of wandering spirits
who will inevitably follow you
home. Truth is, we highly suspect
that it's something the adults
made up when we were kids to
shut us up before bed time.
Landmark
• The most famous landmark in Singapore: Merlion Park.
Okay sure, there's the Marina Sands Bay and Supertree
Grove that are plastered all over the 'gram when it
comes to Singapore landmarks. But trust us, the
humble, old Merlion is the definitive icon of the city
and is regarded as the pride of Singapore.
Music And Dance
• Chinese dances are very popular in Singapore. The Lion Dance is
performed in the New Year festivities, among other dances performed
in other cultural events. The Malay national dance, Zapin, is popular
among Malays.
Singaporean Fashion

• Traditional clothing in Singapore is

generally relaxed, casual, modern and
classic. The Cosmopolitan city is clean
and tidy, and this is reflected in how
locals dress. Women choose clothing
that suits their body shape, keeps them
cool and makes them look good.
