AUTOCAD

AutoCAD is basically a command based software that

means , anything and everything you want to do in
AutoCAD , you do that with the help of commands.

All the commands available in AutoCAD are grouped

in a particular area called Ribbon.

Ribbon is known as the heart of AutoCAD Software

ORIGIN OF AUTOCAD:
The company behind AutoCAD , Autodesk was
founded in 1982 by John Walker. He and the other
15 co-founders intended to develop five different
desktop automation applications, hoping that one
of the applications would take off. Their flagship John Walker
product turned out to be AutoCAD.

Command tool bar is used for activating all the commands
which are used in AutoCAD by typing.

It is also the easiest way to give the command to the

command bar and also to activate it

• Transfer of Drawing is faster and cheaper
FEATURES OF AUTOCAD

• Modelling and Drafting

• Ease of use
• Flexibility
• Low Maintenance of cost
• Time saving
APPLICATIONS OF AUTOCAD
• Designing of the structures of Buildings (Civil Engineering).
• Piping and Instrumentation Details in Industry (Chemical
Engineering).
• Designing of Aircraft (Aerospace Engineering).
• Designing the basic layout of Robots (Robotics).
• Electronic Circuits (Electronic Engineering).
• Detailed Blueprints are made using AutoCAD in various sector
rather than Civil engineering and mechanical engineering .
