Siemens B blade series Vortex generators

Vortex Generators

Creates a tiny vortex in the airstreams

over an airfoil. This vortex energizes the
normally stagnant boundary layer of air
on the Blades surface. An energized
boundary layer is more resistant to flow
separation than a stagnant boundary
layer. The result is that airflow "sticks" to
the wing better, permitting better
production.

The blade – Integral Blade®

• The blade is manufactured in a single operation, using a closed

process invented by Siemens Wind Power

• No glue joints between spars and shells, no weak points, no easy

access for water or lightning

• Combining superior strength with excellent power and noise

performance

Wind speed and wind energy

Warning!
Double wind speed = 8 times more The rotor will accelerate extremely
power output fast if the blades are pitched (manually) and
If the blades are not pitched this is the and the brake is released on a
input from rotor: pitch regulated turbine.
12m/s = 2,3MW
15m/s = 4,5MW In Siemens this is prevented in the software!
The maximum pitch angle on the tree blades is:
24m/s = 18,4MW Two blades in 60º, One in 0º (in service mode)
