THEORETICAL

FRAMEWORK FOR
VIEWING MARRIAGE
AND FAMILY

CHARESS E. GOLES, MAVED

Many of us tend to make our parents and family as
an example and models in making our future families.
Although we emphasize choices in relationships as
the framework for viewing marriage and family, other
conceptual frameworks are helpful in understanding
the context of relationship decisions. All theoretical
frameworks are the same in that they provide a set of
interrelated principles designed to explain a particular
phenomenon and provide a point of view. In essence,
theories are explanations.
