‘Postcard’
Imagine you are writing a postcard while you are sitting on the
balcony of your hotel room, on the beach or outside a café.

• use the Present Continuous to describe what is happening at the

moment you are writing (e.g. “The sun is shining” or “The children
are playing beach volleyball”)
• use the Present Simple for your daily routine while on holiday
(e.g. “I spend most of the day next to the swimming pool” or “I
have breakfast in the same café every morning”)

I am sitting on the terrace of my hotel room. The sun is shining bright and
the wind isn`t blowing. People aren`t surfing now, they are playing
football and beach volleyball. I`m listening to music and writing this
postcard.
I wake early every day. I have breakfast and go to the beach. I don`t stay
at the hotel for too long. I swim in the sea every day. I walk around the
city every evening.
