Course Rationale and Description
This course includes pedagogical content, knowledge, and skills in technology and
livelihood education necessary in teaching and learning at the elementary level.
Selected topics in agriculture arts, fisheries arts and arts and technology, and
livelihood and entrepreneurship education shall form an integral part of the course.
The course will prepare students to become competent teachers who manifest
global competitiveness, in-depth knowledge about "edukasyong pantahanan at
pangkabuhayan" in the elementary grades and armed with teaching strategies and
assessment strategies for each grade level. Students are expected to construct
instructional plans with appropriate instructional materials based on principles,
structure, content, and teaching strategies of teaching “Edukasyong Pantahanan at
Pangkabuhayan.” Moreover, they are expected to apply all these through a
demonstration teaching focusing on this area.

A. GRADING SYSTEM
The grading system adopted by this course is as follows:

Excellent 1 98 - 100
Superior 1.25 94 - 97
Very Good 1.5 90 - 93
Good 1.75 88 - 89
Meritorious 2 85 - 87
Very Satisfactory 2.25 83 - 84
Satisfactory 2.5 80 - 82
Fairly Satisfactory 2.75 78 - 79
Passing 3 75 - 77
Failure 5 Below 70
Incomplete INC

*Students who got a computed grade of 70-74 will be given an appropriate remedial activity in which the
final grade should be either passing (3.0) or failure (5.0).
Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Strategies
During this period of the pandemic, this course will use two
modes of teaching, synchronous and asynchronous. In the
synchronous mode, the discussion will be performed in the
Google Classroom using Google Meet. The asynchronous
mode will be applied to continuously follow up the assigned
tasks and activities of the students. A variety of media
platforms like Messenger, text messaging, video and phone
calls, and conferences can utilize by the teacher and the
students.
The students will be encouraged to use technology,
collaborate, brainstorm, participate in all activities, and have
a lively interaction during class hours. Upon the completion
of the discussion, a quiz could probably give by the instructor
using the Google Form, then students will receive a link to
take the quiz. To assess the students learning, the instructor
shall give at least five (5) quizzes. The students shall have to
take two (2) major examinations, Midterm and Final, on the
specified dates assigned by the instructor.
As part of their semestral project, the students needed to
submit well-written and well-structured lesson plans and
demonstrate them to the class before the semester ends.
The students have to consider the complete details required
for lesson planning. The students will receive copies of
rubrics before the demonstration teaching.
The learning facilitator has to make sure that they were
informed and have an insight of what to expect from them
and given enough time to be prepared to present their final
output in class. The learning facilitator also has to make sure
that students were aware that the rubric is the evaluation
tool to give them grades.
B. CLASS POLICY
Prompt and regular attendance of students is required.
Total unexcused absences shall not exceed ten (10) percent
of the maximum number of hours required per course per
semester (or per summer term). A semester has 18 weeks.
MISSED EXAMINATIONS
Students who failed to take the exam during the schedule
date can be given a special exam provided he/she has valid
reason. If it is health reason, he/she should provide the
faculty with the medical certificate signed by the attending
Physician. Other reasons shall be assessed first by the
faculty to determine its validity.
ACADEMIC DISHONESTY
Academic dishonesty includes acts such as cheating during
examinations or plagiarism in connection with any
academic work. Such acts are considered major offenses
and will be dealt with according to the University’s Student
Norms of Conduct.
DROPPING
Dropping must be made official by accomplishing a
dropping form and submitting it at the Registrar’s Office
before the midterm examination. Students who officially
drop out of class shall be marked “Dropped” whether he
took the preliminary examination or not and irrespective of
their preliminary grades.

A student who unofficially drops out of class shall be given


a mark of “5.0” by the instructor.
