 Inside Polygon
• Customer feedback mainly received from inside polygon as shown ( ) ZOOM IN -VIEW
• MA analysis, due to high risk not allow unblock GSM (169/184 cells) because interference is high
( ) and will impact user experience
• No further optimization or solution possible
 Outside polygon
• Not a customer feedback location
• However, MA analysis finding (15/184) cells have low risk due to lower interference and can
possible to unblock these 15 cells ( )

<Background>
• Interference issue in Bago east region starting 13 Apr
• MOC blocked GUL 452 cells on 06 July based on MA OPT-T analysis Polygon boundary is provided by regional team (source located inside)
 Advantages G900 blocked 184 (Total cell)
 Voice traffic increase; Data traffic maintained Keep block 168 (High risk)
 KPI improvement For unblock 16(Low risk)
 Disadvantage
 Increase in GSM customer feedback as using GSM handset (145 as of 22nd Jul)
<Reason> some user’s cannot use smartphone.
 MA-OPT already highlighted ‘GSM handset limitation’ risk before activity

<Divisional team suggestion>

• Bago division manager suggested to unblock complete G900 (outside polygon) area
for monks & industrial zone users who using GSM handset (total= 116 cells/69 sites)

<MA OPT- assessment>

• MA OPT do not recommend to unblock complete G900
Risk  since G900 is interfered
 Risk # 1. GSM user can get coverage but not good user experience due to high
High risk : RTWP >-85dBm
interference (Info  GSM user penetration only = ~1.5%) at township level Low risk RTWP < -85dBm
 Risk # 2: smartphone user will face poor quality after serving from G900 at cell edge.

<Conclusion>
• OPT-T only proposed to unblock 16/116 G900 cells (outside polygon) as low risk.
• After review approval, MA OPT-T will request MOC to unblock G900 proposed list.

6
G900 – User penetration – Township level (Bago-East)
As per study, ~1.5% handset support GSM only technology in whole townships where RRU blocking cells operation implemented.

7
Bago 900MHz interference case
<Updated information>
• MOC has completed unblocked 15 G900 cells on 8th Aug.
• MA analysis –No degradation observe in performance KPIs. Overall KPIs are stable.
• Bago cell status as of Wk34 as shown Fig- A
• Low interference (Blocked) Total count = 437 GUL cells. [169(-15) GSM], [184 UMTS] , [84 LTE].
• High interference (Keep Monitor) Total count = 168 GUL cells (79 (+15) GSM), (64 UMTS) , (25 LTE).
• Regional team feedback for testing location is awaited

<Background>
• Request received from MPT regional team “Difficulty of making a phone call” on 21 April 2022.
• High interference in the 900MHz band in Bago city starts on 13 April. [Mute call is high and impacts CS user experience].
• 900MHz interference is recovered starting from 17 May 2022 & increased again from 31 May
• Multiple optimization actions completed
<Next action>
• Total impacted within the polygon = 248 RRU 900 band (605 cells)
(G900 – 248 cells, U900 – 248 cells, L900 – 109 cells) – 119 sites
• Proceed to 900 band RRU block = 184/248 (No risk) (452 cells)
(G900 – 184 cells, U900 – 184 cells, L900 – 84 cells) – 93 sites
• Not proceed to 900 band RRU block = 64/248 (Have Risk) (153 cells)
(G900 – 64 cells, U900 – 64 cells, L900 – 25 cells) – 26 sites
Temporary solution
Block 184 RRU (452 cells) (900 band) *OPEX cost (power saving by block)
 Voice traffic: G9 Traffic loss as handset limitation as some users not supporting UMTS technology
 Data traffic: No impact
Permanent solution :
o Need to perform field hunting in this area to identify external sources & request to PTD shutdown the sources.
o However, the region team has suggested not to send a hunting team due to safety issues.
<Info> RRU/cells will be unblocked once interference is back to normal
