Installing GPS
Knowledge Transfer

 GPS is a global satellite navigation.

 It provides precise positioning, navigation, and timing
services to objects on the earth around the world.
 The GPS clock source is highly accurate to the microsecond
level. It supports both frequency and time synchronization.
 The GPS clock in this document can be a GPS clock, a
remote global positioning system (RGPS) clock, or a CPRI
GPS (CGPS) clock.
 If a gNodeB synchronizes with the GPS clock, it obtains
synchronization signals from the satellite synchronization
system by connecting a board equipped with a GPS satellite
 card to the external GPS antenna system.

Installing GPS
Knowledge Transfer

1. Bind the GPS SPD to the left side panel of the cabinet interior using cable
ties.

2. Install a ground cable for the GPS SPD.

3. Install a clock signal cable for the GPS SPD:

(a)Connect the N50 straight female connector of the clock signal cable
to the PROTECT terminal on the GPS SPD.
Protect (b)Connect the SMA male connector of the GPS clock signal cable to
the GPS port on the UMPT/LMPT/USCUb22.

Surge 4. Connect the GPS SPD jumper to the SURGE terminal on the GPS SPD.

SPD – Surge Protection Device
