ASTRAL PROJECTION

INTRODUCTION
• Astral projection is a type of out-of-body experience in
which nothing is "leaving" your body, but your brain is not
seeing it in the way you are used to, giving the sense that
your consciousness is separated for a moment.
• The soul leaving the body and travelling to some sort of
new plane of consciousness is often depicted in astral
projection.
LUCID DREAMING
A lucid dream is a type of dream where the dreamer becomes
aware that they are dreaming. During a lucid dream, the dreamer
may gain some amount of control over the dream characters,
narrative, or environment
PROS: The most common reasons for inducing lucid dreams
include wish fulfillment, overcoming fears, and healing. Some
studies have also shown a link between inducing lucid dreams and
overcoming the fear and distress associated with nightmares. It’s

CONS: lucid dreaming is when the
dreamer is aware of dreaming. Lucid
dreaming can be a fun “trip,” but it can
turn frustrating or downright scary when
you try to wake up from the dream, but

SPIRITUALITY AND
SCIENCE
Astral projection involves esoteric and intangible matters
such as the astral plane and the etheric body (neither of
which can be proven with science at this point), so the
concept is admittedly much more spiritual than scientific.
While the existence of an actual astral plane may still be up
for scientific debate, out-of-body experiences are
acknowledged as valid in the scientific community, as is
the human ability to experience altered states of
consciousness.

that govern movement and imagery projection, even while the

• For example, in a study published in the Frontiers of Human
Neuroscience, researchers observed a subject's brain while
they claimed to be astral projecting.
• The researchers successfully identified some unique parts of
the brain that were active during this alleged journey through
the astral plane — which shows that astral projection is
certainly a perceived experience in the brain of an astral
traveler.

• Ancient Egyptian teachings present the soul (ba) as having the
ability to hover outside the physical body via the subtle body.

Astral projection is one of the Siddhis considered achievable by yoga practitioners through self-
disciplined practice. In the epic The Mahabharata, Drona leaves his physical body to see if his son
is alive.

In Japanese mythology, if someone holds a sufficient grudge
against another person, it is believed that a part or the whole of
their soul can temporarily leave their body and appear before the
target of their hate in order to curse or otherwise harm them,
similar to an evil eye.

CONCLUSION
Astral projection is not scientifically proven yet but how can
you prove that the soul travels when you don't believe in it's
existence. Everything doesn't have an explanation. Some parts
of the brain light up when people astral project so it shows
something does happen. People have various reasons to astro
project bir it either for revenge, comfort, experience or
reassurance.
