This document discusses using oregano (Plectranthus amboinicus) as a mosquito repellent. Oregano is commonly found in the Philippines and other Asian countries, and is traditionally used for its medicinal properties. While some studies have shown that a different species of oregano (Origanum vulgare) can repel mosquitoes due to compounds like carvacrol, thymol, and α-terpinene, this research aims to determine if the local Plectranthus amboinicus variety can also function as an effective, natural mosquito repellent.
