THE TALE OF 12
CHINESE ZODIAC
According to the Chinese legend,
long time ago in China the Jade
Emperor, who was also known as
the ruler of the heavens arranged
a great swimming race on his
birthday and invited all the
animals.
The Jade Emperor announced
that the first 12 animals who will
reach to him after crossing the
fast flowing river will be given
place in the Chinese zodiac
calendar.
All the animals except the cat
and the rat were super excited to
take part in the race. They all
lined up across the river and
were waiting for the race to start.
The cat and the rat
were very good
friends at that time
and were super
worried for the race
as they did not know
how to swim 
The cat and the rat decided to
ask OX if he could carry
them across the river on his
back?
The OX was a nice animal he
said yes to them.
The cat and the rat were now
happy as they can also
participate in the race.
The race started and all
the animals started
swimming.
They swim swim and
swim….
when the ox was
about to win the race
the rat through the cat
into the river.
And then the rat jumped on the river
bank and run towards the Jade
Emperor before the OX.

So, the rat became the first animal

to reached the Jade Emperor and
became the first animal of the
Chinese zodiac.

The OX reached to the Jade Emperor

after the rat therefore OX became the
second animal of the Chinese zodiac.
Later came the tiger
and he became the
third animal in the
Chinese zodiac
calendar.
The animal that
arrived after the
tiger was rabbit. So
he became the third
animal in the
Chinese zodiac
calendar.
Right after rabbit the
dragon reached to the
Jade Emperor and
became the fifth
animal in the Chinese
zodiac calendar.
Then came the snake. The horse
reached right after the snake so
snake became the sixth animal
and horse became the seventh
animal in the Chinese zodiac
calendar
Then came the sheep, monkey Next animal who finished the
and the rooster so they became race was the dog so he became
the 8th, 9th and the 10th animal the eleventh animal in the

Then came the pig so
he became the 12th
and the last (as there
are 12 months in a
year) animal to
finished the race.
What about the cat?
The cat after a lot of efforts
finally came out to the river
and came to the Jade
Emperor but the Jade
Emperor told him that he is
very late and the rice is
finished I have got all the 12
animals for the Chinese
zodiac race
From that day the cat
became enemy of the rat.
Every time the cat meets
the rat, he would chase
and try to eat the rat.

 My personal views regarding the legend
and Chinese Zodiac system! 

I personal liked and enjoyed the legend and the Chinese

zodiac system story. According to the Chinese zodiac
system my horoscope is Dragon and the personality
traits of dragon includes energetic, powerful, fearless,
strong, brave, warm-hearted, trustworthy and
charismatic and I think they are quite true in my case
as I am brave, strong and very energetic.
