The city of Nashik is located in the state of
Maharashtra, which is located in the northwestern
part of Maharashtra.

• Urban sprawl is defined as "the spreading of urban


developments on undeveloped land near a city."
• Urban sprawl has been described as the unrestricted growth in
many urban areas of housing, commercial development, and
roads over large expanses of land, with little concern for urban
planning.
• The city of Nashik is located in the state of Maharashtra,
which is located in the northwestern part of Maharashtra.
•  The district has a population density of 393 inhabitants per
square kilometre (1,020/sq mi) . Its population growth
rate over the decade 2001-2011 was 22.33%. Nashik has
a sex ratio of 931 females for every 1000 males, and
a literacy rate of 80.96%. Urban Population is 58.67 %.
• Nashik district is the third largest district in Maharashtra state
in terms of population of 6,107,187 and occupying an area of
15,582 square kilometer's in the north Maharashtra region.
• Major development is seen around the both sides of the river.
• Slowly the sprawls extends majorly toward the south side and
than some part to the north.
