 Hyundai Motors made its debut in India in 1996 with the opening of
its plant in Tamil Nadu's Irungattukottai on May 6.
 There are currently 12 new Hyundai automobile types on Indian
roads.
 Hyundai debuted a variety of cars over this voyage, and some of them
are still in use today thanks to ongoing improvements.
 Hyundai Motor, which exports to 88 countries and is the largest auto
exporter in the nation, surpassed the three million vehicle export
milestone in early 2020

Hyundai towards Industry 4.0

 The "futuristic factory" or "intelligent factory" is a production platform that
is automated and operated by an ICT and digital data-based system
(Information and Communication Technology).
 The smart factory is envisioned by Hyundai and Kia as a manufacturing
platform whose technology enables production that is more consumer-
focused than before.
 Vision is embodied in E-FOREST with three key notes, Auto-FLEX,
Intelligent, Humanity.
 Smart factory uses ICTs like AI, robots, IoT, and Big Data.
 Real-time data is collected and analyzed by sensors, using robots to
complete tasks that are difficult for people to complete can increase
productivity and worker welfare
 This change in the manufacturing process may free up more time and
resources for research and development, enabling engineers to concentrate
on creating better automobiles and eventually enabling consumers to enjoy
high-quality goods at affordable rates.

TECHNOLOGY FOR PRODUCTION PROCESS

Smart Tag System:
A tiny tag is attached to the automobile body,
where assembly robots recognize the
requirement of model and in turn helps to keep
defect rates low by preventing mistakes.
Automated Inspection Protocol for ADAS
System:
The automated inspection procedure
technology employs six robot arms to check
the final vehicle's five ADAS systems in
around 85 seconds, earlier review was done
independently and testing was challenging.

TECHNOLOGIES FOR VEHICLE & PLATFORM

DEVELOPMENT
VR-Assisted Design Evaluation:
• Technique use VR (Virtual Reality) to build virtual automobiles and environments, system
enables the engineer to freely enter and exit the virtual car, including performing functions as
if he or she were in real life,
• Development time for building a new model by about 20% by removing the need to
manufacture a costly test car and also saves cost. Technology also enables engineers to do
quality control from the earliest phases of development; ultimately, it enables the organisation
to adjust fast to the industry's continually.
Scanning & Deep-Learning of Paint Inspection Sheets:
• System, created by the AIRS Company in partnership with the Manufacturing Engineering
R&D Centre, makes use of a huge existing database of paint inspection sheets, which are
manual recordings of human inspectors.
• Information on the sheets is scanned to create a Big Data database, which is then evaluated by
AI algorithms to discover solutions Excellence
to patterned issues.

INDUSTRIAL WEARABLE TECHNOLOGIES

● Hyundai’s VEX (Vest Exoskeleton) and CEX(Chair less Exoskeleton) are the robots
that assist the workers in the assembly line
● VEX assists the employees in fastening the bottom of automobiles, fitting brake
tubes, and connecting exhausts, and so on.
● VEX improves employee productivity and reduces tiredness by emulating the
movement of human joints
● CEX helps in maintaining a sitting position without the use of a stool or chair
● Development of the VEX and CEX demonstrates HMG’s commitment to the health
and wellbeing of its industrial workers and its on-going exploration of advanced
robotics

DAL-e Robot
● DAL-e is a highly advanced customer service robot that communicates with humans
autonomously
● It refers to "Drive you, Assist you, Link with you-experience,“
● Features of DAL-e are language processing, facial recognition, and autonomous
mobility for seamless wall-to-wall services
● It has pleasant, expressive physical characteristics for personal connections with
consumers
● Hyundai Motor Company intends to constantly enhance the "DAL-e" robot and
employ it in almost all the daily interactions with the customers

SMART INDUSTRIES
● Smart factories based on IoT, CPS (Cyber Physical Systems), sensor
technology, and AI technologies are enabling predictive maintenance.
● Big data from manufacturing processes is automatically gathered,
analysed, and sparked to lead to real-time, active decision-making.
● For intellectual maintenance in Industry 4.0, condition-based
maintenance technology is used in three stages: real-time condition
monitoring, big data processing, and determining the schedule and
scope of repair.

● Predictive maintenance therefore uses the Internet of Things (IoT) to

continuously monitor the health of all production facilities,
machinery, and products.
● Extending the use of applied technologies to other fields including
manufacturing, maintenance, and post-sales management, quality
management will be transformed into predictive maintenance
management.
● Companies currently use a variety of intelligent maintenance
management technologies; including artificial intelligence (AI), smart
sensors, smart robotics, and others.

DYNAMIC ROUTING ALGORITHM

● For on-demand mobility services where cars owned by the provider

must be effectively routed and assigned to the consumers, an AI-
driven method is useful.
● The algorithm can concurrently serve numerous people with various
destinations since it continuously consults real-time traffic and road
data to choose the best route.
