And his feet lay limp over the rocky edge, crying out for
rest and comfort. Deep canyons formed on his heel from
the painstaking hours, days, months and years he worked
the fields. Even his ankles cracked and gave way to the
weight of the loads he carried without break day in and
day out. The sun, like a flame to his flesh, mercilessly
scorned him as he went about his day. Others had it just
as bad, but the pain became too much. He had to stop,
rest, and feel the gentle breeze caress his once smooth
skin before he was forced back up and into the field of
never-ending toil.
