Basic Information
Andy Goldsworthy is a sculptor, photographer, and environmentalist
from Cheshire, England who creates site-specific sculptures and land
art in both natural and urban settings. The series I am interested in, is
his work on ‘Patterns’.

The Photo I am analysing is Goldsworthy’s ‘Outdoor Art’

picture. This image displays a sandy beach with hundreds of
small white pebbles formed close together to start a swirl
shape and the further the swirl goes on, it gets wider and the
stones become less compact. I like this image as it is so
simple but has clearly taken a lot of time to create. The main
focus of the image world be the very centre of the swirl as it
gives the photo a hypnotising look. I will relate to this image
in my work by using just 2 colours to create a contrast.
