• Merger of the International Society of
Cardiology and the International Federation of
Cardiology to form the International Society
and Federation of Cardiology in 1978
• In 1998 ISFC changed its name to the
World Heart Federation
• 40th anniversary celebration this year

• WHF is the lead partner to the World Health
Organization (WHO) and other global agencies
for cardiovascular disease.
