Hybrid vs Multicirculator

13
AGS20 4+0 Hybrid vs Multicirculator
Hybrid Multicirculator

VS
4+0 Multicirculator
 High Power ODU: +3dB respect to the Standard Power ODU (@256QAM 27dBm
vs 24dBm)
 Narrow Filter ODU: single channel ODU (one different CODE for each channel)
 Multicirculator: Capability to branch up to 4 co-polar channels. Low circulation
losses: 2.5dB on each side (i.e. 5dB on the total Link Budget)
 Channels Deployment: two copolar channels in XPIC, on the remaining ports of
the multibranching will be installed an adapted load. High Flexibility in the channel
deployment.
 Scalability: this system can be expanded to 8+0 by adding four ODUs and one
AGS 4IF IDU

15
4+0 HP Sub-band ODU + Hybrid
 High Power ODU: 2dB respect to the Standard Power ODU
 Sub Band ODUs (with isolator): one ODU support more than one channel
according to the SIAE sub bands
 Hybrid: Capability to branch 2 co-polar channels belonging to the same sub band.
Higher Circulation Losses: 3.5dB to 4dB on each side (i.e. 8dB on the total Link
Budget)
 Channels Deployment: two copolar channels in XPIC
 Scalability: this system cannot be expanded. To realize the 8+0 solution the
existing ODUs must be replaced by new HP-NF ODU and the hybrid must be
replaced by the multibranching.

16
4+0 Standard Power ODU + Hybrid
 Standard Power ODU: -3dB respect to the HP NF ODU and -2dB respect to HP
SB ODU
