What is Sound?

Sound is a longitudinal wave


that is capable of producing
auditory sensation.
Short activity:
1. Place your ear against one end of a tabletop.
2. Ask someone or you can do it yourself, gently tap the
other end of the tabletop with a pencil or ruler.
3. Ask someone or you can do it yourself, gently tap the
other end of the tabletop but this time make sure that your
ear is not touching the table.
Sound can be produced when you tap or hit
objects that caused them to vibrate.
