A calorimeter contained 75.0 g of water at 16.95°C.

A
93.3 g sample of iron at 65.58°C was placed in it giving
a final temperature of 19.68°C for the system. Calculate
the heat capacity of the calorimeter. Specific heats are
4.184 J/g °C for water and 0.444 J/g °C for Fe.
A piece of titanium metal with a mass of 20.8 g is heated in
boiling water to 99.5 °C and then dropped into a coffee cup
calorimeter containing 75.0 g of water at 21.7 °C. When the
thermal energy is reached, the final temperature is 24.3 °C.
Calculate the specific heat of titanium.
How much thermal energy is needed to heat all of the
water in a swimming pool by 1°C if the dimensions are
4ft deep, 20 ft wide and 75 ft long? Express your
answer in megajoules. (density of water= 1.2kg/m^3)
