Parliament.
Parliament consists of two chambers known
as the House of Commons and the House of
Lords.
The UK occupies most of the territory of the
British Isles. It consists of four main parts
which are: England, Scotland, Wales, and
Northern Ireland. Their capitals are London,
Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
Climate
The climate in the UK is generally
mild and temperate due to the
influence of the Gulf Stream. It is
usually described as cool,
temperate and humid.
The weather is so changeable
that the English say that they
have no climate but only the
weather.The average of
temperature is from 5 to 23
degrees above zero.That means
that it is never too hot or too cold.
Before 1971 the British used pounds,
British
shillings, farthings and pence. Then
they changed money.
The British currency is the pound
sterling.

They have both coins and banknotes.
Current coins are: 1 penny, 2 pence,
5 pence, 10 pence, 20 pence, 50
pence, 1 pound, and 2 pounds.
Current bank notes are: the 5 pound
note, the 10 pound note, the 20
pound note and the 50 pound note.
London is the capital of
Great Britain, its political,
economic and cultural
centre.
It's one of the largest cities
in the world.
Its population is more than
11 million people. London
is situated on the river
Thames.
The city is very old and
beautiful. It was founded
more than two thousand
years ago.
