 Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera(El Chapo) is one of
the most wanted person that had been captured with the
help of INTERPOL. El Chapo is a 58 year old man, has
Four(4) spause, Eleven(11) Children, he’s 162 cm tall and
was the head of Sinalao Drug Cartel which is located in La
Tuna, Sinalao, Mexico City.
 El chapo was a drug dealer and he is the head of
Sinalao Drug Cartel which is one of the most powerful
organization in Mexico from late 20th century. His
organization produced and smuggled various kinds of illicit
drugs, including marijuana, heroin, cocaine, and
methamphetamine. Under his guidance, the Sinaloa cartel
developed creative smuggling techniques and strategies,
including building air-conditioned tunnels under the
Mexico-U.S. border, hiding drugs in chili pepper cans and
fire extinguishers, and catapulting drugs over the border.
 El Chapo was being pursued by the INTERPOL because he
was a prisoner in Mexico’s maximum security prison before he
escaped. He was one of the most notorious man who killed
many police officers and ruined the life of many because of the
drugs that he sell. He was selling drug with the help of his uncle
Pedro Avilés Pérez. El Chapo started to make his name and
became one of the most wanted person in the whole world.
 In 1993 Guzmán (El Chapo) was arrested in Guatemala
and extradited to Mexico. There he was tried and acquitted on
charges of murder but found guilty of drug trafficking and
possession of firearms and eventually was sentenced to more
than 20 years in a maximum-security prison. In 2001 he
escaped with the help of corrupt prison guards. A subsequent
investigation led to the arrest on corruption charges of many
employees of the prison, including its warden.
 INTERPOL issues Red Notice for escaped Mexican
drug lord. Guzman escaped over the weekend from the
Altiplano federal prison, 50 miles outside Mexico City,
through a mile-long tunnel dug under the prison and up
to the shower in his cell. The spot was the only location
in the tiny cell that was partially out of view of a
surveillance camera
 The International Police Organization says that the 58-
year-old drug kingpin is wanted on U.S. federal charges for
"conspiracy to import and possess cocaine with intent to
distribute; money laundering, and criminal forfeiture (4
counts). An Interpol "Red Notice" calls for the arrest of a
wanted person with a view to "extradition or similar lawful
action”.
 Guzman escaped in prison in 1993 but he was
recaptured at a Mexican beach resort in February 2014
through the help of INTERPOL. El Chapo escaped again in
July 11, 2015 and was recaptured in January 8, 2016. Now
Guzman has been serving a life sentence at Colorado's
Supermax, the most secure federal prison, and was also
ordered to forfeit $12.7 billion. Guzman vowed to escape
again that’s why INTERPOL is keeping their eye on this
man.

While making this Project about El Chapo and on what did INTERPOL do to help capturing this man I feel
sad, happy and amazed. I feel sad because many people have died and fell victim because of El Chapo’s
scheme. Innocent lives were ruined because of him and the drugs that he sell. Police officers died in order to
catch this man and yet this man escaped two times because of corrupt employees in jail. It feels like that the
jail employees didn’t honor the death of many police officers who died catching this man, they just feed their
greed and lust and let El Chapo’s money get into their head. I realized that if you are rich, like crazy rich you
can manipulate people using money and order them to do what you want.

I feel happy when this man gets apprehended for the third time because now this man is serving a life
sentence at Colorado's Supermax, the most secure federal prison. It would be hard for him to escape again
because INTERPOL is keeping eye on him due to reasons that he might try to escape again. Until now
Guzman is still in Prison serving his sentence and I felt relieved because it only means that the police are doing
their job right and not letting theirselves be swayed by Guzman wealth and fortune

I feel amazed because of what INTERPOL’s Red Notice can do. This notice help catching most wanted
and notorious criminal in the whole world, it’s like a fire that spreading quickly across the world. Every
INTERPOL members across the world are doing their best to find the man who has been issued with Red
Notice. What’s more amazing is that there’s a movie about RED NOTICE and A true story of El Chapo in netflix
