pH Ketones
1 Double indicators are used: methyl red Sodium nitroferricyanide and glycine in 4

HCl 40 ml, DH20 160ml
Nitrite
8 The reagent pad is impregnated with p-
arsanilic acid and tetrahydro-
benzo(h)quinolin-3-ol.
Specific Gravity
9 Polyelectrolyte polymer (Maleic
anhydride/methylvinylether) in the
presence of bromothymol blue as an
indicator
Leucocytes
The reagent strip test for leukocytes uses 10
an absorbent cellulose pad impregnated
with a buffered mixture of derivatized
pyrrole amino acid ester and diazonium
salt.
Ascorbic Acid
The alkali salt of 2,18-phosphomolybdic 11
acid is dissolved together with alkali
chlorate and an aliphatic
hydroxycarboxylic acid in water. The
solution is brought to a pH of 2.5-5.0 with
an alkali liquor; such as lithium
hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, etc.
