Storytelling is one of the oldest and most
effective teaching strategies that we have been
using all these years.

Itis an accessible way to communicate


important messages to children in a playful
and simple manner.
Short stories move children into the world of
imagination while acquiring new skills which
simplifies the educational process and makes it
more effortless.
It helps the young learners solve given problems
and tasks in a playful way and creates
constructive and creative comprehension of the
given matter.
Listening or reading a story helps
children develop literacy, imagination,
creation and critical thinking skills
more effectively.

BENEFITS OF STORYTELLING
1. Storytelling will help children understand
their roots and cultures
- telling historical and traditional stories will
help our learners understand and stay
connected to the different customs and
traditions prevalent in their own families or
community.
2. Enlightens ethics and virtues in
children
- Children try to emulate the attributes of characters and
situations of the stories in their real life. Unfold stories to
teach to teach them the significance of morals and
principles in life. As teachers, we should try to share
compelling stories to build up their traits like honesty,
truthfulness, gratitude, courage, wisdom and many others.
3. Develops an Emotional Quotient and Empathy
 Stories improves emotional intelligence and control
over their emotions. When listening to stories, children
subconsciously develop the ability to think for others. The
feeling of correlating and concern for others makes them a
better person. The stories that we choose should help the
children realize how their actions can affect others.
 The act of storytelling can teach our pupils to be more
thoughtful towards others.
 4. Enhances Communication skills
 A very good communication skills will make our learners
better individuals.

 Teachers should choose stories that are fun and interesting to


motivate their curiosity and grab their attention which lead to
improved listening, and understanding skills and
communication or verbal proficiency.
 5. Encourage Active Participation in Challenging
Situations
 Challenging situations can often end up leaving kids
confused. Teachers should also use stories about difficult
conditions .

 This concepts will surely train them to evaluate precise


solutions during difficult situations in the future.
