1. Please note that the work done in the video & the examples shown may not necessarily adhere to the principles & the best practices of Data Visualization &
hence it is requested that the video be taken into consideration purely to understand how certain features work
in Tableau & how certain analysis can be performed in Tableau.

2. Also note that the Tableau version used in the Video may not be the latest version (released in the year 2019) & there might be slight UI changes if one tries
to use the latest version of Tableau (released in the year 2020)

3. The majority of the examples shown in the video use the sample datasets that are part of the My Tableau Repository folder which is created when one
installs the Tableau desktop / Tableau Public on one’s machine. You can access these sample data sets using the
following path: Documents > My Tableau Repository > Data Sources

Understanding the buying behavior of our customers better in order to design effective targeted campaigns which
in turn will drive more revenues
You are an analyst at a Retail company that deals with the various products that are sold to various customers across U.S. via various modes of shipment

Purpose & audience:


Management has asked you to create a view that helps them segment the customers & understand their buying patterns, improve customer retention & cross sell. The
idea is to identify the customers that can eventually lead to more targeted promotions.
For example: If we can identify customers that have only purchased from us once, then these customers can be targeted later with relevant promotions

Factors to consider:

2. The given data may not have all the fields required for your analysis & hence you are free to create any new variables as required (For example: the data has only the
unit prices but doesn’t have the overall sales values & so on)
3. One can make assumptions regarding the data, however, when submitting your work, please make sure you list down your assumptions to avoid any confusions.
The assumptions can be submitted as a PPT deck & the format for the same can be found here
4. Please use Tableau Desktop or Tableau Public for creating your dashboards.
5. If using Tableau Public, please share the specific URL when submitting your work & make sure your work is downloadable.
