The Existing
System:
Currently there is no existing system and this will
be the first system that the company will create.
Since there is no current existing system, we’ll be
using other booking websites as a basis for our
system while giving improvements to our system.
Processes Involved in the Existing
System.
Since there are no systems that currently exist, we’ll be looking for other booking systems that exist that
we can use as a basis.

Direct booking - Direct booking to the actual hotel, but you can’t look for other hotels in the area since
most direct booking only allows their own hotels.

2. Account creation - you will need to create an account for that hotel in order for you to book your reser-
vation, but creating accounts for multiple hotels is already a hassle for some.

Private information - Information about the user is collected for future use.

4. Email verification - Emails are verified by sending an email, this is to reduce the amount of bots that
are registering.

The Proposed System

THIS SECTION WILL EXPLAIN THE FEATURES, PROCESS AND IMPLEMENTATION ISSUES OF
THE PROPOSED BEDSEEKER: AN ONLINE RESERVATION FOR TOURISTS IN BAGUIO CITY.
Processes in the Proposed System
• Process in the Proposed System
• With the advent of other booking systems that was earlier discussed, the proposed system will
be adapting some of the features that were deemed necessary and additional functions that will
make the proposed system unique and more customer friendly.
• Just like the other system, the proposed system will have identically the same functions as the
other booking system but with added functionality. The system will basically become a
repository for other hotels in the area that the company can be partnered with in order for them
to have a centralized system. This will give the tourists ease of access in booking hotel
reservations and be able to explore other hotels all in the convenience of one website.
• The proposed system will also have an administration tab in which the admin will be the
middleman for the users and the hotels. The admin can approve or cancel the reservation of the
user and users who are approved for booking will be
automatically booked for the hotel.

Security measures to be incorporated

Security Measures to be Adopted

The following are the security measures to be adopted in the system. The researchers have identified
the following as a top priority in order for the system to be secure and safe for both the client and users to
use. This is also to prevent any attack from outside sources and to keep the information of the client and
users to be safe.

1) The system would be protected by a password with a hash crypt. During the account creation, the
passwords of each user and client will be created and be protected by applying a hash crypt on it. The
use of a MD5 Hash crypt or better should be implemented by the researchers in order to protect the
information of the client and user.

2) The system will enable email verification. With the rise of bots and fake email accounts, the use of an
email verification in order for users to be able to use any functions that require their payment
information or basic information that the website provides. This is to deter any users that will use
fake email and to verify users that the email they have provided is theirs to use.

3) Payment APIs will be used for payment systems. This is to help developers and users and clients
alike
Users Accessibility Usage:
The following are the guidelines in using the system. The limitation of the user in using the system
depends on their user’s accessibility usage. Here are the specifications below that follows:

a) The users are able to search for Transient House and Boarding they want.
b) The users are able to change their passwords.
c) The users are able to book what Trans and Boarding house they want as long as it is
available.
d) The users are able to leave a review for the Transient House they stayed in.
e) The users are able to ask for a cancellation or refund or rebooking of reservation
System Requirements
System requirements mean the minimum requirements of the proposed system to be able for the user
to use the system. The following presents the requirements that should be implemented to run the
proposed system.

Hardware Requirements. Since this is a web based application the minimum requirements for this
would be a device that can connect to the internet may it be a pc or a phone and has access to the
internet. For the server however, a hosting service can be used by the researchers in which they will
need to purchase a plan that is able to accomodate a medium size of users accessing the website.

Software Requirements. The software requirements will be an application that can connect to the
internet. This can be either a chrome, firefox, opera or edge for the pc and mobile. No other
requirements are needed.
Chapter 4: Summary, Conclusion, and Recommendation.

• This chapter summarizes the contents of the study. The findings

led to the drawing of the conclusion an derivations of
recommendations.

• The focus of the study was to design and develop an automatic

online web-based reservation for tourist in Baguio City.
specifically the study seeks to answer the following questions:
1.What are the processes involved in the existing Tourist Reservation
of Baguio City?

2.What are the problems Encountered in the existing Tourist

Reservation?

3.What are the features and security control measures that can be
incorporated in the design of Online Reservation Application for
Tourist in Baguio City?
In order to achieve the general objectives and the following
specific objectives of the study:

1. To be able to identify the processes involved in the existing Tourist Reservation of Baguio City?

2. To be able to identify the problems encountered in the existing Tourist Reservation?

3. To be able to identify the features and security control measures that can be incorporated in the design
of Online Reservation Application for Tourist in Baguio City?
Summary of Findings:

Based on the findings of the study, Baguio City is currently using the tradional way. Tourist will manually
search online for the reservation of rooms and they will manually find a spot for rooms if there is available or
already fully booked. They will manually Fill-up the requirements. Tourists will also manually fill up forms that
are needed, for example how many are they? When will they check-in? how many nights will they stay? And
also fill up their personal informations. Lastly they will manually Submit their requirements for validations.
Hotel Staffs will evaluate your requirements and validates your stay in the hotel. Check your messages or emails
manually for confirmation. Hotel staff will send a message that you are now reserve for the rooms.
Problems encountered in the Existing Online Reservation System

1. What you see is what you get - You can’t check other places for better locations or
deals. Meaning you will have to search on your own where other hotels are and where
they are.
2. No deals or discount vouchers. - Most, if not all, direct booking don’t have any deals
on their website, thus finding any vouchers or any specials is hard considering that
tourists usually find better deals.
3. No centralized information - Tourists will have to search on their own the hotels and
other places just to find the right hotel for them. This wastes precious time for them and
will usually just go with the cheapest one.
Conclusion

Reference with the researchers’ personal observation, interview with some clients and background study about the
existing online reservation system. We concluded that those existing online reservation requires them to manually
input and manually find reservation to their preferred location. They are more in traditional way and I think its
already outdated because in todays modern world majority are using automatic systems that allows them to halve
the time in needed to register for example.
Recommendations

Based on the findings and conclusion, recommendations were drawn:

1. To succeed in tourist demands, we have to focus on satisfying our customers and gradually increase the level of its customers satisfaction
through having a clear cut marketing strategies to promote this to our tourists.

2. We will assure the quality of our app in order to win customers satisfaction and consequently achieve a competitive advantage and long
run survival. Not only earns personal satisfaction and benefit and also contributes to the country’s economic development.
3. Improve the system interface so that it will be easy for the tourists to reserve with no time being wasted.
4. Data back-up should be done so that we can fix errors immediately without causing errors on the transaction process.
5. The app will help to boost economic profit for Baguio City.
6. The app will help the total number of customers for boarding houses, Transient houses and Hotels.
7. To avoid malfunction of the system we will require system maintenance to cope up with changes and security.
8. For the future improvement of the system you can add real time voice call or video call through web or smart phone’s interface.
9. Enhance the manuals so that foreigners can easily access the app without any language barrier.
10. The should always be secured for any types of malicious hackers.
11. For future improvements we will enhance the security of the apps so that personal informations will not be leaked like name address and
numbers.
12. For the future researchers, they can use our research to develop a much better version of the app.
13. We will make the employees of hotels and landlady’s work much easier because they can easily get a customer rather than their
traditional way of getting one.

14. For future enhancement we will also try to borrow the translate system that can translate foreign language to English so that it can be
accessible for those who can’t speak English language.
15. We will also try to add a tip option for the employees so that it can be a good way to help them have an extra income.

Summary of the answers about the interview questions for the owner of transient houses in baguio city, these were the answers to the questions

for the owners.

1. In the interviews, we received negative and positive outcome of the said proposal, there are 8 who approve and 2 disapprove, while 3 others were

neutral about the implementation of the biometrics voting system in our barangay.

2. They said it would be a lot easier for the owners to manually see the clients first to verify if they are legit or not.

3. Yes, because other transient houses are far to the highways and its better to showcase our property online.
