A ABSTRACT
During Typhoons and heavy rain there is no warning if
there’s flood or the city sewers overflow, it will be
stealthy for them to know if their house is being flooded or
not so we created this as a solution to this problem because
it’s such a problematic impact to the lives of people living
in the City Camp Baguio City. As we research upon, we have
seen that they are the one greatly devastated during heavy
rain or the Typhoon event like Ompong and Pepeng. Every
year, hundreds of families have to relocate to escape the
flooding during storms in the area. The city government
earlier installed a drainage system which somehow eased the
flooding, but then, garbage always clogged the water exit
blocking water flow. As a students of DCCP Baguio we aim to
eliminate possible risk for human lives and to promote
effective preparedness and to save many lives by this
project by implementing a technology in a feasibility
Project entitled AGWE: The Watchful Water Level Drainage and
Sewer Guardian for Barangay City Camp Baguio City. When it
rains heavily, large amounts of water and debris flow into
the city's sewers, overloading the sewer system. If there is
more water than the sewer can handle, the excess water can
flow back into the sewer in your home and then flood your
basement. There is also the danger of water overflowing as
many chemicals can mix with water and cause illness. Through
our project, we will significantly reduce all threats to
human life by preparing early or preventing it early on. How
does our Technology work? We will put AGWE on the drainage
or sewers and place it on an area that is very low or near
rivers because this is the favorite spot for waters to fill
in. By this we will program AGWE to detect the level of
water inside the drainage and program it to alert everyone
in the barangay just in case the water will reach the danger
level that potentially flood the whole area. The National
Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (NDRRMP)
fulfills the requirement of RA No. 10121 of 2010, which
provides the legal basis for policies, plans and programs to
deal with disasters. As stated NDRRMC only moves when the
disaster is in occurrence while ours are in action before
the time of the events of disasters.
