Wiring Calculations for Other Loads
Example: A single family dwelling with loads of 2 kW electric range, 1.5 hp electric
motor water pump and 2.5 hp air conditioning unit are to be circuited with the
following requirements: Type of Service – 230 V; Single Phase 2-wire; 60 Hz; Line to
ground current system. Determine the:
a) size of the branch circuit wire for each loads
b) size of the conduit pipes
c) size or rating of the fuse protective device

and 2.5 hp air conditioning unit are to be circuited with the following requirements: Type of Service – 230
V; Single Phase 2-wire; 60 Hz; Line to ground current system. Determine the:
a. size of the branch circuit wire for each loads
b. size of the conduit pipes
c. size or rating of the fuse protective device
SOLUTION
1. Branch Circuit – 2 kW electric range
SOLUTION
2. Determine the size of the Conduit
Pipe for the 2 kW electric range
Refer to Table
Use 13 mm diameter conduit
pipe

Schedule of Loads
• Schedule of loads are summary of data to easily identify and facilitate the
necessary values and equipment rating to be used in any electrical installation.
• Any data given in the schedule of loads were backed by calculation based on a
well settled electrical principles and code requirements.
Finding the Size of Service Entrance
1. Solve for the Total load of Circuit 1 to Circuit 3.
Finding the Size of Service Entrance
2. Apply 80% demand factor as permitted by the Philippine Electrical
Code.
