1Inter state transmission services charges -

• Implemented from 1st Nov 2020
• In case of Actual Injection > Ex-Bus capacity of Commercial station, Transmission charges will be payable by
Generators at the rate of = 1.05 * Transmission charges of the state in which they are located.
• If a generator is injecting more than 100% of its Ex-Bus Capacity, it needs to pay ISTS charge for extra injection
above 100% .
• For Generators to gain in DSM charges during low frequency time blocks , if
ECR+ISTS charges < DSM rate based on DAM ACP- Profitable

2ISTS charges calculation-

ISTS charges are applicable only if AG is more than 100% of its Ex-Bus Capacity
100 % EX-Bus Capacity of each stage -
Stage-1 = 1146.6 MW
Stage-2 = 929.5 MW
Stage-3 = 937.5 MW
Stage-4 = 937.5 MW
Stage-5 = 463.75 MW
ISTS Charges are applicable only if in any stage AG is more than above mentioned figures for that
stage, irrespective of SG or number of units onbar.
• In stage-4 this full month there will be no ISTS charges as only one unit is in service.It is impossible
that AG is more than 937.5 MW.
• In stage-2 till revival of unit-7 (BTL) there will be no ISTS charges. As it is impossible that AG is more
than 929.5 MW.
• In any stage if schedule(SG) is so less that AG is less than above figures there will be no ISTS charges.
• In stage one if SG is 1120 MW , AG is 1154 MW, ISTS charges will be applicable only on generation
corresponding to 7.4 MW (1154 MW - 1146.6 MW) in that block, While DSM will be applicable on 34
MW excess generation (1154MW- 1120MW) for that block

November- 45.44 Paise per unit, total monthly charges paid =152.39 L
December- 50.41 Paise per unit, total monthly charges paid =100.46 L
January - 50.41 Paise per unit (provisional) ,total monthly charges =100.47 L
• ISTS charges has big impact on our DSM earning.
• ISTS charges has impact on our cutoff frequency for profit margin.

4Cutoff frequency updation in ABT software-
style
• Now Cutoff frequency will vary as per AG in that block.
• ABT software logic updation is in progress by EMD since last few days, still work in progress.
• Operation (Switchyard engineers) is requested to revise ABT software CUTOFF frequency( by changing cost of
generation) till software solution is available.
• If any unit outage occurs , in that stage-
for CUTOFF frequency, Cost of generation = ECR rates
After unit revival and achieving full schedule –
Cost of generation= ECR rate + ISTS charges

• In any stage ,if all units of that stage are running at full capacity-
for cutoff frequency, Cost of generation= ECR rate + ISTS charges
