Injuries and Diseases



MUSCLES- fleshy part of
our body. They enable our
body to move.

JOINTS- the point where


two bones meet and connect
VOLUNTARY MUSCLES-
muscles are muscles that are
attached to the bones. These
muscles help the bones move
and give shape the body. We
can control the movement of
these muscles.
INVOLUNTARY
MUSCLES- that are attached
to the walls of the internal
organs of the body.
 We cannot
control the movement of these
muscles and they keep on
moving even when we are
sleeping
Our bones are strong
and hard but they
sometimes get injured
due to a badfall or
accidents. The following
are examples of bone
injuries.

BONE INJURIES
Dislocation- a dislocation occurs
when a bone in a joint is displaced
or has moved out of its proper
position.

DISLOCATION

Sprain- an injury to a ligament
caused by excessive stretching.
A sprained ligament brings so much
swelling in the injured part.


SPRAIN

Fracture- a fracture is a break in
the bone.


FRACTURE



Cramp- a strong muscle
contraction that can be very
painful lasting for few minutes
but massaging muscle can often
relieve the pain
Bruise- muscle become black or
blue due to blood cloth when
you get hit or when you
bumped into something hard

What suffering you from pain if your
ligaments suddenly twist or stretched?
What is being affected when we have sprain?

What happen to ligaments if we have sprain?


What kind of injury is a broken bone? When
we say fracture, what is being affected?

BONE DISEASES
OSTEOPOROSIS

It is a common disorder caused by the
thinning and weakening of bones
experienced by elderly people. The
bones become brittle and weak.
ARTHRITIS

A common joint disorder
characterized by inflammation
of the fingers and joints in the
body. It may occur to people
of all ages but is commonly
observe in older people.

A bone condition caused by
deficiency in Vitamin D
usually observed in children.
Person with rickets have very
weak bones causing bone
deformation.

It is an acute infection
caused by a virus that
attacks the nerve cell of
the brain and spinal cord
resulting to paralysis.

D. A girl fell from the stairs and her arm bleed.
The doctor who attended to her said that a bone
in her arm broke. What kind of injury did the girl
have?

fractures(open and closed
fracture),dislocations and sprains.
How will you protect your bones
from injuries?

Use protective gears while



playing, eat nutritious food good
for bones,exercise,rest,maintaining
good posture and keeping safe
from accidents.
