Body Parts of Animals that Live in Water Gills Fish have gills to breath underwater. Fins Fish have fins to help them swim or move in the water. Scales Fish are covered with scales for protection from disease, injuries and attacks from other animals. Shells or Exoskeleton Shrimp, clams, mussels, and lobsters have exoskeleton that support and protect their body. Green Shell Mussel (Tahong) Clams Extension/Elaboration List down as many aquatic animals as you can in 1 minute. The group with the most number of animals listed will be declared the winner.
