Introduction to Bhagat Singh
 Bhagat singh was born on 28 September, 1907, In Lallpur, Punjab.
 He was an Indian freedom fighter and was considered as most famous revolutionaries of the
Indian indipendence.
 He was also called- Shaheed Bhagat Singh (The word "Shaheed" means great soul or
martyr).
 He was founder of organisation called- "Hindustan socialist republican association"
(HSRA).
 His family was involve in revolutionary activities against the British and ▸ British empire.
 He studied about European revolutionary movement when he was a teenager as a result he
was attracted to communism and anarchism and following he got involved in many
revolutionary activities against the British empire.
EARLY

LIFE
Bhagat Singh was born to a "Sandhu" Family (a tribe that is found in
Nothern India particularly in Punjab).
 His parents were- Sardar Kishan Singh Sandhu and Vidhyavati.
 His family background was patriotic sikh family that paritcipated in
numerous revolutionaries against the British empire.
 His father was influenced by a hindu reformist- Arya samaj.
 As a child he was deeply affected by the massacre of "Jalianwala bagh"
(when the British army with full force fired a rain of bullets,
 when there was an sikh festival going on thousands of people were
gatherd in that park, they fired around 10 000 bullets)
 When mahatma gandhi started the non-corporation movement he was an
active member at the age of 13 in 1920.
KILLING OF CHANNAN SINGH
 After killing Saunders, the group escaped through the D.A.V.
 College entrance, across the road from the District Police Headquarters.
 Chanan Singh, a Head Constable who was chasing them, was shot dead by Chandrashekhar
Azad. 
 They then fled on bicycles to pre-arranged safe houses. The police launched a massive search
operation to catch them, blocking all entrances and exits to and from the city; the CID kept a
watch on all young men leaving Lahore.
 They decided to catch the train departing from Lahore to Bathinda en route to Howrah (Callcuta)
early the next morning.
ESCAPE FROM LAHORE

 Bhagat Singh and Raj guru, both carrying loaded revolvers, left the house early the
next day.
 Dressed in western attire (Bhagat Singh cut his hair, shaved his beard and wore a
hat over cropped hair), and carrying Devi's sleeping child, Singh and Devi passed
as a young couple, while Raj guru carried their luggage as their servant.
 At the station, Singh managed to conceal his identity while buying tickets, and the
three boarded the train heading to Cawnpore (now Kanpur).
 There they boarded a train for Lucknow since the CID at Howrah railway station
usually Scrutinised passengers on the direct train from Lahore
BOMBS IN THE

ASSEMBLY
The British government decided to make a new
policy called- " The defence of India act" that
gave more power and control ton the british
police. This took place in the british assembly.
 Bhagat singh and bhattukesh war threw fake
bombs in the assembly that only made sound it
did not harm anyone present in the assembly after
bombing. They shouted - "inqualab zindabad"
(long live revolution) as they threw the bombs
and then threw a rain of leaflets written: "it takes
a loud voice to make a deaf hear"
JAIL
 Bhagat Singh was captured in Jail for the first time at the 20. age of
 He was captured in jail because he shot a British Police Officer of 22 years because he killed- Lala laj pat
rai (old polition close friend of Bhagat singh's father).
 Bhagat Singh did food strike for 63 days demanding same treatment, food and facilities as British
Prisinors or rich indian politition prisonor. (this means that he did not eat or drink for 63 days).
 He was set free from jail because his father paid bail. (his father paid money to make him set free from the
jail.
 He was arrested again for throwing fake bombs in the assembly even though the bombs did not harm
anyone.
HANGED TO
DEATH
 After throwing bombs in the assembly Bhagat singh and
Bhattukeshwar dutt gave thier arrest to the british police.
 After some trials the desision was made that bhagat singh, raj
guru and sukhdev to be hanged.
 Bhagat Singh was hanged to death at the age of 23 years. On
March 23, 1931.
 This gave birth to a revolution to every indian.
 And finally in 1947 the Britishers ran away from India, there
was no British empire any more anymore and India was
independent. The Tribune.
 Bhagat Singh is remembered as legendary hero till now.
